Looking for a non-pelleted version of Micro Clover Seed? Look no further! Many homeowners are now supplementing their grass lawns with Micro Clover, or using it to repair damaged patches. Give it a try and see the benefits for yourself.
As a legume, Micro Clover fixes atmospheric nitrogen in nodes along its roots. This directly benefits grasses by fertilizing the soil naturally. Healthier grasses maintain a richer colour for longer in the season, and require less water and fertilizer. Clover grows densely so it crowds out weeds, and prevents weed seeds from becoming established. It is also a good option for homeowners whose lawns have been infested by European chafer beetles. Adult chafer beetles are not attracted to legumes and will go elsewhere to lay their eggs.
Contrary to what its name implies, Micro Clover is not simply a tiny version of standard clover. When Micro Clover is mowed, its leaves grow smaller and more numerous, with fewer flowers than conventional clovers. It becomes established more quickly and can be mowed shorter than typical lawn grasses. It will also stand up to foot (and pet) traffic. Once established, Micro Clover is more drought tolerant than grasses and require less frequent watering.
If starting a lawn from scratch, use 5% Micro Clover of the total weight of the grass seed being sown.
